I was reading 4 Hero's blog and they linked to this, a rather interesting article about a survival plan of sorts for those of us who are creative.
The concept is that if you have 1000 TRUE FANS - the type who will buy everything you make and come to every gig then you will be able to make a living from it. Great reading. Just goes to show how important it is to foster a true original sound if you can - not to try and make the music that is popular just for the sake of it. That's surely the key to getting those fans who will buy into YOU.
BUT,
things can change, you can't take it for granted your output will be enough to satisfy the needs of your 1000 fans..
so many permutations but interesting to ponder on.
