Man.. been playing around with this and the thing is fast for composition! I layed down the foundations of a new track for the label in no time at all. I'll be posting up a video of the track and breaking down its components soon. Anyone else had time to check it out?
Not yet but it looks sweet, it now looks nice and simple to use (i've never got on with logic in the past because it always felt like you needed to do several things which would only take one thing to do in cubase) - might have to say byebye to cubase if it's as good as it looks.
Well, i'm Cubase so far.. found previous Logic versions got in the way of the composition compared to Cubase. Now with the new version it's improved loads on the workflow side. The bundled effects and Instruments are great and the Mixer routing is superior compared to Cubase. Still got some Cubase projects to finish for Enzyme Black but when that's done i'll be moving over for sure.
Danny, I'm on Logic 8 also, absolutely loving it ! I must say this will take some beating by way of simplicity ! Have you seen the preview on Macprovideo.com also ? As you may remember, I chose to go down the Logic route around 3 years ago and I can't say I've looked back. I want to see what this bad boy can do when mixing in surround sound !
Excellent video Danny - need to get myself a session on it to test it out!
I like how they've made the interface "one monitor" friendly by the looks of your vid - defo a plus for me as i've only got room for one monitor.
I went from Logic 7 on a MAC to Cakewalk Sonar Producer Edition on a PC. But with your promotion video for Logic 8 it seems that I have to re-think my decision...Greetz, Christian
I'd like to be able to but not just yet as I am contemplating developing the idea into a proper track for the label.. If i do put it out i'd consider sharing it on here once it had been out for a couple of months.
I've just ordered a new Mac Pro 2x2.6 Ghz Xeon with Logic 8.
I thought it was about time I made the switch for music production. The new version of Logic looks absolutely stunning.
I'm no stranger to the Mac, as I've been using them for for nearly 20 years at work! My only regret is not switching over earlier!
I will post my thoughts about Logic 8 when I've had time to have a play.
;-)
